It is with great pleasure that I am able to contribute to your monthly newsletter. Let me start by saying that it has been the best experience of my weight control life. The John Flynn has brought many happy experiences into my life with the birth of my 3 children however with this particular visit I had mixed emotions. With my beautiful wife by my side I and my fully paid for 30 or so kilos in front of me, I reluctantly but excitedly entered the doors of Dr Layani's office. I was very private or you might say embarrassed about my weight, as many in my position are so when I walked though the doors only to see that I knew both secretaries I just wanted to walk straight back out and I would have if my wife wasn't with me.
When I first met Carol she gave the whole picture which looking back now was invaluable and I walked out of the meeting with my wife thinking there was no way that I would want to go though that. Then after a kilo or so later I went along to see Amanda, which in turn changed the direction again. Then my first meeting with Dr Layani sealed what was to become the first step into happiness and a life I used to enjoy 30 kilos ago. The operation was set for March 2001 and the butterflies were rampant the week or so before. Not wanting anyone to know of this operation I chose to go it alone as it were and not have any visitors in Hospital after the operation.
To this date I believe there are only a few close friends that know the truth behind what my success has been. For that I apologize to the Doctor for my lack of advertising. Being wheeled down to the operation rooms I looked for every and any reason to cancel the procedure. My operation was delayed due to an emergency Cesar operation. So I had been given even more time to opt out. I awoke to a pain in my shoulders that was extreme to say the least. That pain continued for the next few days. But with the help of prescribed drugs I made it though with flying colors. The doctors advise to get up and walk about was sound advice and since that I haven't looked back.
My life has changed to the point that close friends look twice to see if that really is me and let me tell you that you do not get sick of people telling you that your looking so good. The days of FAT BOY are long gone. To walk into a clothes shop and buy whatever I like instead of "it won't fit" so don't bother or walk past the mirror and think surely that wasn't me to stopping in front of the mirror on purpose to look at yourself and say "yeh that's me". The after purchase deal you receive from Amanda, Carol and Staff is second to none and without this it would not have been as successful for me. So to end with thank you so much guys for your support, professionalism and time during this past year.
