A lap band requires regular maintenance by the patient through adjustments performed within the clinic to increase or decrease the volume of fluid within the band. This adjustment determines the size of the opening between the upper and lower pouch and therefore how long it takes for food to make its way through the stomach.
Your food choices and what you eat on a daily basis will require careful consideration as certain foods are not lap-band friendly. Each individual will be different and it is important to think of your lap band as a tool to assist in your weight loss rather than something that will stop you eating inappropriate foods.
Our dietitian will guide you through the process of what to eat as part of your package and is available to answer any questions or address any concerns that you may have.
