Warren has been part of Dr Layani’s multidisciplinary team since early 2008. He has degrees in Psychology, English, and Journalism and studied in the United States and Australia, originally completing his undergraduate studies in psychology back in 1996. He has extensive international work experience in South Africa, England, USA, New Zealand, and Australia and has spent a fair bit of his time abroad as a professional soccer player and coach. His interest in health psychology and the implications of obesity has developed over the years and stems from his passion for the application of psychology in sport, where lifestyle plays an important role in the performance of elite athletes. He has spent time with Dr George Blair-West recently completed Level 1 and 2 certificates in The Psychology of Weight Management (Psychodietetics).
Warren provides pre and post-surgical support to patients undergoing weight loss surgery and assists in facilitating the clinic’s Professional Development Workshops for general practitioners. He also runs the clinic’s monthly information seminars and is a board registered psychologist who holds membership with the Australian Psychological Society.
